Masterclass: Everyone's A Critic

In collaboration with Transitions

When: Thursday 17 October, 6-8pm
Where: Fyfe Lecture Theatre, RCS

Was the last film you watched worthy of five stars? What’s the worst review you’ve ever read? Being a critic is an artform in itself, but you don’t need to have a degree to have your say.

In this session, award-winning journalist, broadcaster, and RCS Film Lecturer Andy Dougan leads a masterclass in criticism. Teaching you how to watch, react to and reflect on film, music, theatre and more this session will equip you with the essential skills you need to talk confidently about the media and performance you see.

By the end of this session you will have explored how to describe, discuss and interrogate a short film, writing your own review in the style of a professional film critic. However, you will also leave with a toolkit in description and reflection, which are key elements of your RCS Audition.

Booking Deadline: Friday 11th October, 2pm
*Update: Sign up for this has now closed.
