Counselling Service

The RCS provides a Counselling Service offering confidential support to all students. Embarking on a course of higher education can be both exciting and stressful. Issues may arise around relationships and homesickness, family matters or the pressures of study and work and it can be helpful to speak confidentially with someone who is not part of family, friends or studies.

There are seven counsellors: two Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) therapists, two person-centred counsellors, a counsellor who works in British Sign Language and two integrative therapists. The counselling team, whose details are listed on the student portal below;

Counselling & Mental Health

, aims to reflect the diverse make-up of the RCS student body. Students can choose which counsellor they would like to meet with and contact them directly for an appointment. Counselling is free of charge to all RCS students.

Any general enquiries about the Counselling Service should be directed to Dr Jane Balmforth or Manisha Gosar, Conservatoire Counsellors, at counselling@rcs.ac.uk.
