Exchange students

If you’re a student on an Exchange programme you’re welcome to book a room in Base Glasgow if your mobility duration is for the full academic year. If your mobility period is for one or two terms, you may be able to book a room subject to availability.

If you are coming on an Exchange programme, it is important that you get your plans (dates of arrival/departure) set as soon as you can. The earlier you know exactly when you will need accommodation, the more choices will be available to you. Short-term accommodation is more difficult to find but it is available, even if it means renting a room from one of the other higher education institutions in the city, such as the University of Strathclyde or the University of Glasgow. Adverts for accommodation can also be found on our Facebook Freshers page.  You could also consider registering with Host UK,  or Theatre Digs Booker.

Other sources of accommodation assistance can be found in our Accommodation in Glasgow 2023-2024

As an Exchange student you will be required to have your identification verified at your matriculation appointment, this will include your passport, evidence of arrival in the UK (this can be your boarding card or flight confirmation), and if you are studying with us for a period of more than six months you will be required to have a Student Route visa in place prior to arrival in the UK. Please see the following for further information: Visas, Healthcare and Insurance info for New Students

We would encourage our incoming Exchange students to let us know whether you would like to be put in touch with course representatives in advance of their arrival if they have any questions, or would like to be put in contact with other students on their programme.
