We are thrilled that you are joining the RCS MT community.
The BA Musical Theatre here at RCS is a unique and ambitious programme and we’re so looking forward to seeing more of the skill, creativity and passion you each brought to the audition process.
This page contains lots of information and it should cover most things you need to know, prior to starting in September. If you do have any questions, please contact our Programme Support Administrator, Caitlin Farquharson, and she will point you in the right direction.
In order to help you plan and budget for the year ahead, we’ve put together some information on the materials you’ll need and some of the costs associated with your training. You are required to make a one-off payment of £120 to help defray the cost of the scripts, photocopying and teaching materials (associated programme costs) that you will be issued with at various times throughout the three years of the programme. This is paid as part of the matriculation process. Please see https://portal.rcs.ac.uk/matriculation/ on how to make this payment.
Welcome week information
During the welcome week of term, there will be events and workshops where you’ll receive all kinds of information about life and work at the Conservatoire. You’ll meet the core Musical Theatre faculty and we’ll give you an overview of the year. Your timetable for the week can be found here BA MT Welcome and Induction Schedule 2023 The department will provide you with induction details for the remainder of the week. Please note, the 2023 programme handbook will be available once you have matriculated.
There are a number of events organised during this week which will help you prepare for your studies and give you an introduction to the Conservatoire. You will also have the opportunity to meet your Head of Programme, your Head of Department and other key members of staff.
These events are compulsory and it is important that you look carefully through the schedule and identify those that apply to you. You will matriculate (register on your programme) on Monday 25 September.
