Tuition Fee Payment
Tuition fee payment can be made in one single payment before matriculation, at matriculation, or paid in 3 equal instalments over the Academic year with the first instalment paid before/at matriculation.
Tuition fee rates can be found here. Please note that tuition fees are reviewed annually, which means that they may be subject to a year-on-year increase.
Tuition Fee Status
RCS assesses your eligibility to pay Scottish, Rest of UK (RUK) or International fees based on the information in your UCAS Conservatoires application. Because of a long-standing agreement between the UK and Republic of Ireland, new students from the Republic of Ireland starting their studies in 2023-2024 will be eligible to pay the rest of UK (RUK) fee.
From the information given, if it is not clear what your tuition fee status will be, you will be emailed a tuition fee assessment questionnaire. Once you have submitted the questionnaire with the required supporting documents, we will make an assessment as to whether you will be classified as Scottish, RUK or International for tuition fee purposes. Your tuition fee status remains with you for the entire duration of your programme of study as once you have started your course there are very few circumstances in which your tuition fee status can change. Gaining Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), and/or acquiring three years’ ordinary residence in the UK, part-way through a course will not change your fee status.
The rules which we apply in order to assess fee status changed as a result of the UK leaving the EU. UKCISA plans to provide a simplified overview of the new regulations in the coming months. Sometimes students can be targeted by fraudsters when paying fees. Please be aware that criminals can target both UK and Non-UK students before and after arriving at the Conservatoire. Many scams operate online via social media on sites such as WeChat, Instagram and TikTok. Please read the UKCISA guidelines carefully to avoid falling victim to these criminals.
