Transitions is pleased to announce our round of Parent and Carer Forums, which gives us the chance to meet and chat together. It’s a great opportunity for us all to build relationships, share experiences, and generate great ideas for helping our young people.

As the Fair Access team and the work we do are in a period of transformation we are especially keen to involve you in discussions about the future direction of Fair Access.

What it’s for:
These sessions are run by Jesse Paul, the Head of Fair Access and members of the Transitions team. At the focusgroup, you will have the opportunity to tell us about your experience as an RCS Transitions student. Each year, we want to make improvements so that we can support you best.

We look forward to having a discussion with you all to help us gather experiences and talk about how we might improve what we offer to our students. At the FocusGroup, you will have a chance to contribute ideas about how RCS should support BIPOC students. The sessions will be run by our Head of Fair Access and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion team.

If you are the parent or carer of a Transitions student, you are invited to attend our next Parent and Carer Forum which will run online on Wednesday 8th March 7pm-8pm. The parent and carer forum gives us a chance to build relationships and tell you all about our ongoing activities. It also gives you the opportunity to talk to each other, sharing experiences and problem solving together.

Diversity in Film Open Session

 DIVERSITY IN FILM OPEN SESSION 

Further Opportunities

On 10 March, RCS Fair Access and Film teams hosted our first Diversity in Film open session in partnership with Africa in Motion Film Festival, Free Lens Collective, Glasgow ANSAR and GMAC Film. It was a dynamic and well-attended afternoon with roundtables and showcases. There were more than 50 delegates and speakers.

The film industry in Scotland is in a period of growth where there are lots of opportunities for people to progress into film education and the workforce…and here’s how:
