Our Commitment to Fair Access

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is an inclusive and diverse environment. At Transitions, we are committed to fair access and aim to encourage students who show real potential to join our programme.

Our commitment to fair access begins at an early age. We recognise that to succeed at the performing arts, students need to start developing their skills when they are young. We are proud of the work we do and we hope to see young people from the Transitions programme go on to apply to higher education in the performing arts in years to come.

No two learners are ever the same, but we have the same vision of success for any student who joins Transitions. We want you to succeed.

To do that, you must take responsibility for your own learning, and be determined to progress. Here are our ambitions:

  • We will encourage you to be motivated, curious and brave.
  • We will expect you to collaborate, communicate and interrogate.
  • We will equip you with experiences that give you an edge, with a cultural vocabulary and a voice to use it and determination with a belief that a career in the performing arts is not just a dream.
