We want to increase diversity and representation in film education and the wider screen sector. To this end the Fair Access Department and the BA Film course at the RCS are working in collaborating with Africa In Motion, the Free Lens Collective and GMAC Film to deliver an event for Community Leaders and Arts Workers from Black and Global Majority communities.
There is a strong desire to attract people from underrepresented and diverse backgrounds into the screen sector and this event aims to create a bridge between communities and available opportunities. The event will include speakers, stalls, presentations and films. We will hear from students, trainees and people starting out on their career in the film and TV industry alongside heads of departments, training providers and educational institutions.
We are keen to welcome teachers, community leaders, youth workers, arts workers and parents from Black and Global Majority communities. The event will take place in March 2022.
