Scholarships

On an annual basis, RCS disburses circa £1.5 million in scholarships to approximately one third of our incoming and continuing undergraduate and postgraduate students on the basis of merit and financial need. However, if you haven not been awarded a scholarship, as funds are limited, we would recommend you explore external funding options which may be available to you.

For non-UK students we would advise you to research any scholarship or funding opportunities in your own country in advance of starting your studies.

Rest of UK (RUK Bursaries)

The conservatoire offers additional bursaries for Rest of UK (RUK) students to partly offset the introduction of higher level of tuition fee for that group of students. We will use the residual household income figure as calculated by the Student Loans Company (SLC) when assessing scholarship entitlement. Depending on your residual income, you will be guaranteed to receive the following level of scholarship for each year of your programme. Applications are made via either Student Finance England, Student Finance Wales or Student Finance Northern Ireland, based on your domicile. The application form will contain a Consent to Share section which allows information to be shared for bursary purposes. Both you and your sponsor(s) will need to not opt out to be considered for this bursary. You will be able to use your bursary to either contribute towards your tuition fee or towards your general living costs.
