Matthew read music at Cardiff University before completing his Masters in Composition at the RSAMD (now RCS). He has pursued a varied career in music and theatre which has seen his music performed across the world. Matthew lectures on the BMus and Musical Theatre courses, teaches in the Juniors department and works from time to time for the Short Courses and Conducting Departments.
For Scottish Opera Matthew has worked on projects taking him far and wide from Thurso to Tianjin! He is the musical director of ‘Memory Spinners’, a wonderful programme of projects which use music, storytelling, movement and the visual arts to help people with dementia and their carers relax, get creative and form new support networks.
