Setting up Alerts for New Journal Articles

Did you know that in our Catalogue Plus search, you can set up alerts to be informed whenever a new article is published about something that interests you? (Remember, Catalogue Plus is the option that searches all our electronic resources as well as the books, music and audiovisual resources in the library itself.)

You can watch this video or following the steps below:

Step 1. Go to the catalogue and select Catalogue Plus https://rcs.koha-ptfs.co.uk/. Define your interest in the search box(es) – eg, Creativity Reflective Practice Music, and hit Search.

Step 2. Once you’re happy with the results you’re getting, go to the top right hand corner of the screen and click Sign In.

Step 3. You’re signing into our DeepWeb search engine, so you need to create a DeepWeb account and login. Go to Create an Account, and follow the instructions.

Step 4. Now you can click on Search, and by following the instructions you can set yourself up to receive updates from DeepWeb whenever it finds something that meets your listed search terms. You can set up multiple searches. If you get tired of the alerts, or your interests change, just go back into your DeepWeb account and modify your requirements.

Step 5. If you encounter any problems, please just email the RCS Library, Library@rcs.ac.uk and whoever is around will try to help sort it!
