Research Paper - The Goals, Values and Strategies of Art School Lecturers

I started these Arts Educator interviews for a number of reasons, firstly to celebrate graduates from the MEd in Learning and Teaching in the Arts, but also to start to build an international network of Arts Educators. I also started as a part-time PhD student exploring the potential of non-directive coaching approached to support artist development. Before I became the head of our MEd in Learning and Teaching in the Arts in 2014, I taught scenic art and theatre design for 19 years, however I originally studied fine art in a Scottish Art School. As part of this PhD I undertook a series of interviews with Art School lecturers teaching fine art in a Scottish Art School. I asked the five participants the same questions  I ask the podcast guests, and collated the responses within a research study paper. This was a modest scale project, however I it lead me to some deeper insights into the goals, values and strategies of art school lecturers.
