Masterclass: Devising Monologues, 7 April at 2pm
At RCS, Mercy works with ‘New Writing’ and sits on audition panels working with students on classical and contemporary speeches. This monologue masterclass will address components for a good monologue and ways a performer can share a character journey in a speech of under 3 minutes.
Participants will look at examples of monologues and work towards creating their own piece.
About Mercy
Mercy Ojelade is a professional actor with extensive experience touring nationally and internationally. In Scotland, Mercy has worked for the Traverse theatre, the Tron theatre, Perth Theatre, the National Theatre of Scotland and Vanishing Point. Beyond Scotland, Mercy has worked with Druid theatre in Ireland, Punchdrunk, the Globe Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
As a tutor, Mercy has teaching experience at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Rose Bruford College, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and Cours Florent in Paris. Mercy is an Association Member of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain.
