Part of the Fair Access ‘Get Into’ Series

Curious About Film is a monthly film club for people who want to explore and engage with film. You will watch and talk about film, get some hands on practical experience of cameras, dabble with animation and sound design and learn about all the different jobs in the film industry. You will get the chance to design your own film festival and programme your own cinema screening event – so you can experience film in all it’s glory!

Workshops and activity will take place at GMAC Film in central Glasgow – with the final screening at Glasgow Film Theatre. This programme of workshops is part of the RCS’s ‘Get Into’ series and is being delivered partnership with GMAC Film and Fair Access at the RCS.

 WHAT IT MEANS TO BE ME 

Care Experienced and Estranged Screening & Discussion

Fair Access and GMAC warmly invite you to an entertaining and inspiring screening and discussion event for people with lived experience of the care system. We will screen a curated programme of short films made by and featuring care experienced and estranged young people.  The short film programme will be followed by a discussion that explores the opportunities for care experienced and estranged young people to engage with the arts.

 DIVERSITY IN FILM 

Citizen M, Glasgow, 10 March 2022

As part of our ongoing relationship with GMAC Film, we’re delighted to be partners in Diversity in Film, taking place at Citizen M on 10 March 2022.

This event is a collaboration between Fair Access, GMAC, Africa in Motion and the Free lens Collective.  Aimed at teachers, community leaders and arts workers who support Black, Indigenous and People of Colour, Diversity in Film will give an insight into the range of careers possible in Film and TV.  Expect inspiring speakers, screenings, workshops, and conversations.

Are you or someone you know care experienced or estranged and interested in the performing/production arts? Do you want to get involved in a discussion about the impact of the arts on this group? Then come along to our screening and discussion event in partnership with GMAC.

We will be doing a screening of our wonderful films that showcase our work with care experienced and estranged students people including our own RCS students alongside younger participants.

Who: For Care Experienced and Estranged Young People interested in the arts and people who support and celebrate those young people.
