How did you find out about Transitions?

From a school drama teacher.

When did you get involved with Transitions?

Summer of 2019.

What was the most useful thing you learned about your artform and yourself?

I learned so many useful tips and tricks during my time with Transitions. Knowing the dimensions of a sheet of ply and keeping that in mind when designing large set pieces will keep you in the construction team’s good books, which is always important!

Why should someone think about joining Transitions?

The amount of opportunities and doors that have been opened during my time with Transitions has been totally amazing. I’ve been able to learn from and work with so many talented people through workshops and attend Q&As and activities. It’s such a good way to expand your ideas and knowledge.

What is one piece of advice would you give to any current student on Transitions?

Always get involved. When I first started with Transitions I was worried about joining activities that weren’t for my art form, but every activity I did was fun and informative, and actually, the most fun I ever had was during an active movement workshop full of dancers and one fiddle player where we all rolled on the floor during an ‘interpreted dance’.

If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently within your time with Transitions?

Definitely get involved in all the activities and workshops that I could. The ones I did get involved with were so fun, and educational I only wish I’d had more time to be able to attend them all!
