How did you find out about Transitions?

From my parents

When did you get involved with Transitions?

September 2017

What was the most useful thing you learned about your artform and yourself?

The most useful thing I learned about my art form is time managing skills. I’ve developed good time management skills through consistent practice. Time management is an incredibly important life skills to have as it helps you organise your schedule efficiently. Learning how to manage your time can also improve your mental health as it gives you more control of your life. Being a person that doesn’t speak that much, playing music has provided me a medium to express myself and highlight my individuality.

Why should someone think about joining Transitions?

Transitions offers a wide range of activities and opportunities for students from any art form. It gave me the opportunity to meet other people who are studying other art form and participate in activities that is not related to music. Transitions also provide financial support to those who wish to pursue a career in performing art, Transitions has allowed me to focus on pursuing music without worrying about my financial situation.

What is one piece of advice would you give to any current student on Transitions?

The piece of advice that I would give to current students is to participate in events outside of your art form and meet more people. This will help expand your social network and create more opportunities for you in the future. It is also a great way to make new friends.

If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently within your time with Transitions?

If I could do it all over again, I would participate in more workshops. I’ve learned a lot through Transitions’ workshops including handling performance anxieties and collaborative skills. It is also good way to meet more people.
