Making Connections
As the name suggests, Let’s Talk About…is a discourse-focused initiative which extends beyond the life of the projects included in this site. Our ethos is to listen-to-learn, to avoid making assumptions, and to find opportunities for deep learning for everyone in carefully held spaces.
We believe in the sharing of experience and practice, the support and mentoring of early career artists and the role of community in shifting culture.
Ultimately, we want to see an improvement in how we engage with care experienced and estranged artists, students and audiences both at RCS and throughout the wider arts community in Scotland and beyond.
On 1st April 2025 we hosted the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s first ever symposium exploring ways of working with care experienced and estranged artists, students and participants.
A community of artists, educators, students, arts organisations, local councils, third sector organisations, charities and HE institutions interested in this work joined us to participate in practical workshops and discussions.
