About

Working with Care Experienced and Estranged Young People in the Performing and Production Arts

There’s lots to talk about.

This open and inquisitive project aims to:

  • Highlight some of the best arts practice happening across Scotland
  • Build a supportive community of artists, practitioners, teachers and professionals working in this field

We know there is a lot of interesting work happening out there and have seen first-hand the impact this has on the young people it engages.

We are keen to understand the key principles that underpin well-developed skilfully-delivered projects. We will document and share our findings with others, encouraging dialogue and the development of creative practice.

Through this investigation, we hope to build accessible resources for anyone working with care experienced and estranged young people and hold a space for a community of people interested in learning and sharing.

Within this website you will find:

  • Case studies of four contrasting projects which took place across Scotland
  • Reflections on creative processes and key lessons learned
  • A holding space for resources and research around working with care experienced and estranged young people
  • News of events, projects and opportunities taking place within this field

We hope you enjoy exploring the materials on these pages and please join our community. Simply head over to ‘Making Connections’ to find out how.
