Sextortion is when someone threatens to release sexual information, clips, or images of you unless you send them money. Watch the video below for more information.
If this has happened to you, it isn’t your fault. What the perpetrator is doing is illegal.
You can get help from Police Scotland by contacting them on 101.
If you’re not sure if you want to make a police report, or if you’d like support to do this, you can reach out to RCS to discuss your options and support moving forward. All reports will be held confidentially and discretely. If you would feel more comfortable speaking to a staff member of a specific gender or background, you can request this when you contact us. We will accommodate these requests as far as possible and where staff availability allows, however, on rare occasions we may not be able to accommodate these requests. Some useful contacts:
